FOKCDF-US will work with young people and women who are abled differently to tackle barriers that prevent them from participating and thriving fully in society.
These may be barriers that prevent them from access, participating in community activities or engaging in economic activities that improve their livelihoods and moves them away from the deepening poverty.
According to Global Disability Right Now, 10% of Kenya’s population, which is roughly 4.4million people, is predisposed to a form of disability. These forms include vision impairment, deafness, physical disability, autism, cerebral palsy, mental health conditions among others.
FOKCDF-US will work closely with KCDF to reach persons with disabilities in alleviating their challenges in the following ways:
