Education and Youth

Friends of KCDF US (FOKCDF-US) seeks to support initiatives that focus on the holistic development of children and youth into productive members of society. We believe that education saves lives, ensures that children gain the necessary skills to learn, provides protection, and builds peace and stability in communities.

Despite great progress in the last few years through the free primary and secondary education in Kenya, millions of children are still denied their right to education. Restricted access to education is one of the surest ways of transmitting poverty from generation to generation.

Restricted access largely stems from lack of resources by parents or guardians to enable children from disadvantaged backgrounds go to school. Our focus is on raising resources to support children in under resourced backgrounds and regions access quality and transformative education opportunities through provision of scholarships and life-skills training in the tertiary and secondary level.

Here is how we are breaking down barriers that children and youth lack in accessing education.
